[NV 0401] - The Story of The Las Vegas Sun (9:24)

Brian Greenspun, publisher & editor, Las Vegas Sun, says his father, Hank Greenspun, founded the newspaper in 1950. Greenspun purchased The Free Press, a newspaper run by striking Las Vegas Review-Journal pressmen, and converted it into The Sun. Hank Greenspun blazed a trail through Las Vegas history, tussling with Sen. Pat McCarran and Sen. Joe McCarthy, and helping to convince Howard Hughes to invest in the gambling Mecca.
