Jerry Sova grew up on a dairy farm in Leoni Township. He graduated from East Jackson High School and Central Michigan University, were he majored in journalism. After graduation he worked as a copy editor at the Battle Creek Enquirer before joining the Jackson Citizen Patriot in 1999. He was named News Editor in December 2001 and Associate Editor for Print and Online Production in 2010. Jerry lives in Jackson with his wife, Meeka, and sons, Kole and Brady. He enjoys hunting, fishing and trapping.
